The Master of Physiotherapy (MPT) is a two-year postgraduate degree programme that comes under the stream of Medicine and Allied Science. This degree programme deals with physical therapy, which is used to improve a patient's physical functions.   • PO1: The student will be skilled in treatment planning, management, administration of physiotherapy treatment, and provision of patient support.
  • PO2: Acquire in-depth knowledge of the structure and function of the human body related to the respective branch of specialty.
  • PO3: Acquire in-depth knowledge of movement dysfunction in the human body and the principles underlying the use of physiotherapeutic interventions for restoring movement dysfunction towards normalcy.
  • PO4: Demonstrate skill in Physical and Functional diagnosis pertaining to the patient under his or her care.

  • PSO1: Demonstrate the ability to critically appraise recent physiotherapeutic and related literature from journals and adopt diagnostic and therapeutic procedures based on it.
  • PSO2: The student will also perform independent research within the department and help the department and the team with treatment planning for the patient.
  • PSO3: A PT post-graduate is encouraged to pursue further qualification to attain a senior position in the professional field, and to keep abreast of the advances and new technology, the professional should opt for continuous professional education credits offered by national and international institutes.

  • PEO1: The MPT degree enables students to specialise in a variety of physiotherapy specialties, including sports, musculoskeletal physiotherapy, neurology, orthopaedics, geriatrics, health promotion, disability rehabilitation, and cardiopulmonary physiotherapy, as well as numerous employment opportunities in the health care industry. A MPT degree holder earns 4 to 9 LPA on average.
