Programme Overview

The Bachelor of Pharmacy (B.Pharma) is an undergraduate degree programme that focuses on the study of drugs and medication. The programme aims to equip students with knowledge and skills in the field of pharmacy and enable them to become competent pharmacists. During the programme, students learn about pharmaceutical chemistry, pharmacology, pharmacognosy, pharmaceutical analysis, pharmaceutical engineering, and clinical pharmacy. They also gain knowledge about the legal and ethical aspects of pharmacy, drug regulation, and the management of pharmacy businesses. The curriculum includes both theoretical and practical components, with students participating in laboratory sessions, case studies, and internships to gain hands-on experience in pharmacy practice.   • PO1 Pharmacy Knowledge: Possess knowledge and comprehension of the core and basic knowledge associated with the profession of pharmacy, including biomedical sciences; pharmaceutical sciences; behavioral, social, and administrative pharmacy sciences; and manufacturing practices.
  • PO2 Planning Abilities: Demonstrate effective planning abilities, including time management and resource management, delegation skills, and organisational skills. Develop and implement plans, and organise work to meet deadlines.
  • PO3 Problem analysis: Utilise the principles of scientific inquiry, think analytically, clearly, and
    critically while solving problems and making decisions during daily practice. Find, analyze, and evaluate and apply information systematically, and shall make defensible decisions.
  • PO4 Modern tool usage: Learn, select, and apply appropriate methods and procedures, resources, and modern pharmacy-related computing tools with an understanding of the limitations.
  • PO5. Leadership skills: Understand and consider the human reaction to change, motivation issues, leadership and team-building when planning changes required for fulfilment of practice, professional and societal responsibilities. Assume participatory roles as responsible citizens or leadership roles when appropriate to facilitate improvement in health and well-being.
  • PO6. Professional Identity: Understand, analyse, and communicate the value of their professional roles. in society (e.g., health care professionals, promoters of health, educators, managers, employers, employees).

Use ethical frameworks and apply ethical principles while making decisions and take responsibility for the outcomes associated with the decisions.

    • PSO-1: Pharmacy professionals acquire basic knowledge in various disciplines of pharmaceutical sciences for recent advancements applicable in the field of novel pharmaceutical dosage forms and Pharmaceutical Product Development.
